Wade Isaman

Wade first fell in love with fishing back in 1997 on the Green River. On his first day, he became "hooked" after landing two buttery browns. Since then, he has traveled to the waters in Washington and Montana, but kept returning to the Green. He is here to stay as one of our guides!

Wade is the guide for you if you are looking for someone that is "fun", informative, and patient. He wants you to become "hooked" on these beautiful, big browns as he did several years ago. As an avid fly-tier, he'll take care of the flies of choice for you on your trip. Being slightly superstitious, he would prefer you leave the bananas and white lighters

John Sparger

Trout Creek flies is pleased to have John Sparger back on its roster of guides, after his brief stint of working for one of the other outfitters on the Green.

John is as local as they come. Having grown up in nearby Vernal, Utah, he was exposed to the Green River at a young age. His passion for fishing was developed upon the numerous lakes and streams around the area, beginning at a very young age. When he discovered fly fishing, working for Trout Creek, at the age of 18, it was a perfect fit.

John has been guiding the Green River since 2006, in that time he has learned to become a patient instructor in the techniques and nuances of fishing the Green, with specific emphasis on his favorite techniques of dry fly and streamer fishing.

John's passions for fly fishing, photography, and fish in general, have led him into pursuing a bachelors of science in Biology at the University of Utah. His hope is that his passion for fish, fishing, and the water will lead him to a long fruitful career.

Come and spend a day fishing with John, his boisterous, and jovial personality. Combined with his knowledge of the river, skills on the oars, and patience as a teacher, are sure to enhance the enjoyment of your Green River experience.

Brandon Feller

I have been fly fishing the Green since I was boy. It has long been my favorite river. I started guiding here in 2005, and I have been guiding here full time since then. I enjoy teaching all areas of fly fishing and I am a Federation of Fly Fishers (F.F.F) certified fly casting instructor. Guiding is truly enjoyable work for me. I love seeing people catch fish, as well as improve their skills. Some of my greatest memories in life come from this river and the moments I share with people in my boat. When I'm not guiding or fly fishing I enjoy other outdoor sports and activities.

Dave McDonald

Dave is a long time resident of Dutch John, UT. When he is not putting clients on fish, he is out back "working" on our new cabins, helping Lorraine with Sweet Lorraine's Bed and Breakfast, or in community activities. He is so busy, in fact, that he has absolutely no time to complete a short description of himself. So it has been left to us to help provide a glimpse into the guide that is Dave McDonald.

We consider him our well "seasoned" guide rather than old. He won't admit it to you in person, but he DOES know what he's doing and enjoys every minute of it. He knows people....seriously! If you can pull him away from his busy schedule, we're sure he will provide you an experience on the Green that will change your reality.

Steve Habovstak

One of the veteran guides of the Green River. Steve Habovstak, has been guiding fly fishing on the Green River and local small rivers like the Provo and Weber rivers since 2001. Steve is also the Fly Shop and guide service manager for Trout Creek Flies. Known throughout the guide community as the “Patient One”, working well with all personalities. Teaching and sharing the history and knowledge of the river is important me. I love to dry fly fish and throw streamers but understand that nymphing at certain times of the year is the call. Steve learned to fly fish and tie flies at the age of 7 and originally from Montana. Steve has a great passion for customer service, the great outdoors and sports.

"From booking to take-out, Trout Creek Flies was a great shop to work with! JT and I had the pleasure of floating with Brandon - a patient, professional guide ready to help us improve and cheer us on. Our streamside lunch was delicious! Big thanks to Steve and Cori who helped us at the shop and gave us good directions. :-) We had a blast and look forward to our next trip!"

- Susan

"Although fishing was a bit slow today due to warmer than preferred water temps I still had one of the best trips of my life with Wade on the A section. Beautiful fishery, sweet fly shop and top notch guide service. Can't wait to come back!"

- Dillon

"We had a relaxing trip down the river and didn't have to worry about dropping off the raft because they dropped us off and picked us up when we were done. Great people, friendly and very accommodating. Look forward to our next visit already!"
