Flows: 1,400-3,040 cfs daily/nightly
Temps: 56-60 F
The fishing this July has been spotty on all three sections of river. The flows are fluctuating throughout the day, and that has negatively affected the aquatic hatches. There are still hatches coming off, but in small areas, and they are typically short lived. However, terrestrial dry fly fishing can be good some days. There are a decent amount of ants, beetles, hoppers, crane flies, damselflies, and dragon flies around. Cycle through different patterns until you figure out what the fish want that day. Everyday has been different. Nymph fishing remains more consistent, and with the flows fluctuating, fish are looking for sow bugs/ scuds and aquatic worms. Also, there are PMD’s hatching in certain areas on A,B, and C sections, and PMD nymphs have been working on nymph rigs.

Worm patterns-wiggly and chenille-red, brown, and orange (sz. 10-14) Sow bugs-grey/rainbow patterns (sz. 14-18) Scuds-grey/olive/orange patterns (sz. 12-20) PMD-pink/orange/yellow nymph and dry fly patterns. (sz. 16-20) Caddis-dark olive/tan dry fly patterns (sz. 14-18) Ants-black/brown dry fly patterns (sz.14-18) Beetles/Seed bugs-black/tan/brown dry fly patterns. (sz. 10-14) Cranefly-brown/grey dry fly patterns. ( sz. 10-14) Dragonfly-grey/olive dry fly patterns (sz. 2-6) Cricket-black/brown dry fly patterns (sz. 12-14)
