Fishing has been fair to good on all sections of river. With inclement weather in the forecast, B and C sections could potentially blow out. Make sure to check with the fly shop before heading to the lower river. Terrestrial insects continue to be the dominant fly choice for dry fly fishers, but there are still a few caddis bouncing around. Nymphing is productive in the right areas. Try fishing the riffles and rapids, and the drop offs below. Streamer fishing is starting to pick up with the change of seasons. Early morning and late evening are the best times to throw streamers.
Go-To Flies:
Aquatic worms in red, pink, and brown colors. Sow bugs and scuds in grey, and tan colors (sz. 14-22) Midge pupa in white and chartreuse colors (sz. 16-22) Crickets in black and brown (sz. 10-14) Hoppers in tan and olive (sz.6-14) Ants in black and brown (sz. 12-18) Cranefly adults in tan and brownish colors (sz.8-12) Beetles in black and brown (sz.8-14) Streamers in black, brown, and olive. Articulated and single hook patterns are both working.
